PATTERN NOTES
· Pattern includes both written directions and charts. · The rib stitch is quite elastic, and will fit a wide range of hand sizes. To adjust size, you can switch to a different needle, or add an additional pattern repeat. · Instructions are written for fingering weight yarn with optional beads. Modifications are given for using DK weight yarn. · You can insert the beads using your favorite method, such as pre-stringing or using a crochet hook. · The beading pattern is written for fingering weight yarn and 48 stitches. It will need to be adjusted if changes are made to the number of stitches. · If beads are used, there is a Right and a Left mitt. Otherwise, both mitts are the same. Instructions: Cast on 48 sts. Join in the round and evenly distribute on double pointed needles, or work with the Magic Loop method. Work K1, P1 rib for I% inch. Switch to Double Eyelet Rib pattern stitch and work for 9 pattern repeats, or about 3 /2 inches, ending with Pattern Row 4. Chart 1 Shows three Eyelet Rib pattern repeats, and shows placement of beads by the star symbol. If no beads are used, just knit these stitches.
