Materials:
sm (fits newborn - 6 mths) med (fits 6 mths -1 yr), Ig (fits 1-1.5 yr) 1 skein of Cascade 128 Superwash (128 yards): Charcoal 1 skein of Cascade 128 Superwash (128 yards): Black But play around with colors, this is a color block sweater.. 14 stitches $=4^{\mathfrak{s}}$ (10 cm) 1 size US 10 circular needles 1 size US 10 DPN's or magic loop for sleeves 4 stitch markers waste yarn ribbon or buttons for decoration
Directions:
Starting at neck edge:
Cast on 18 (28, 38) with gray on circular needles k 4 (6,8), pm, k 2 (4,6), pm, k 6 (8,10), pm, k 2 (4,6), pm, k 4 (6,8) k1 p1 k1 p1, knit to the last 4 stitches, p1 k1 p1 k1 k1 p1 k1 p1, purl to the last 4 stitches,p1 k1 p1 k1 cont. in moss/seed stitch at the beg 4 and last 4 stitches of every row creating a border edge down entire length of front of sweater, cont. with stockinette in betweenborder.
Increase for the sleeves:

On every knit side, keeping your seed border, knit to one stitch before each marker and kfb (knit into the front and back of the same stitch), sm (slip marker), kfb the stitch after stitch marker, continue in this manner across row. purl next row, keeping seed stitch border (thru entire sweater). Cont increase row on every RS until you have increased 8 (10,10) times Finish a WS purl row
Separate for the sleeves:
(RS) K to 1st marker, remove it, slip all the stitches between that 1st marker and the 2nd. marker onto waste yarn. Knit across back stitches until you come to the 3rd marker. Remove it and slip all the stitches, between 3rd marker and the 4th one, onto waste yarn. Knit remaining stitches. All stitch markers should be removed. You have made your sleeves, but they are resting until you finish the body of the sweater. Purl a row
Sweater Body:

(RS) Cont with seed stitch border, knit entire row (WS) Purl change colors: switch from gray to black on the right side row. knit 1 inch of stockinette, ending on WS row. (RS) Increasing the body slightly, add some YO's to create holes for you to add ribbon details. Depending on how flared out you want the skirt, knit either 4 (5,6) YO across the knit row. They can be random or evenly spaced out, your choice. Cont. knitting in stockinette until body measures 3.5 (4,5) inches from under the arm. Change to seed stitch for remaining rows of skirt for 2 (2,3) inches Bind off loosely.
Sleeves:

Right sleeve, pick up and knit waiting sleeve stitches from waste yarn onto DPNs add stitch marker and join in the round. Knit in the round for 1.5( 1.5, 2) inches At beg of round, switch to seed stitch for another 1.5 (1.5, 2) inches Bind off. Repeat for left sleeve
Finishing:
Block if necessary, so the seed stitch border on front willay nicely. Add ribbon through your YO holes or embellish as you like. Dress on a cute baby. Kiss cheeks. : )
