\* A Swell Yarn Shop Duet Sock Yarn ( $100\%$ Merino Superwash Wool 370 yd of main and 100 yd contrasting yarn per skein) 1 set of US #2 $(2\,\%\,\mathrm{mm})$ and US #3 $(3\mathrm{~}^{1}\!/\!4\mathrm{~mm})$ needles or size needed to achieve gauge \* Crochet hook sz G + stitch holder or waste yarn Gauge: 25 sts, $^{/}\,34\,\mathrm{rows}=4$ inches Notes:

Back Using US #2 needles and CC yarn CO 64 sts Work 6 rows in seed stitch ( $\ ^{*}\mathrm{K}1$ , $\mathbf{P}1^{*}$ ending in K1) Change to US #3 needles and MC Knit in SS for 75 rows or until back measures $8~\%$ inches. Shape Shoulders: 0 BO 9 sts at beginning of next 4 rows $\circ$ Place remaining 33 on stitch holder or waste yarn Front Left- Using US #2 needles and CC yarn CO 32 sts \* Work 6 rows in seed stitch ( $^{*}\mathrm{K}1$ , $\mathbf{P}1^{*}$ ending in K1) \* Change to US #3 needles and add MC for body \* For front band edge 0For RS with CC (Slip 1, P1, K1, P1) then change to MC and Knit for remaining 28 sts. $\circ$ For WS with MC Purl 28 sts then change to CC and (K1, P1) twice. + Continue for 63 rows ending on a WS row \*Shape neck-Created by 0With RS facing, (Slip 1, P1, K1, Slip 1) K1 of MC then pass slipped CC sts over. Sleeves- (make 2)

Using US #2 needles and CC yarn CO 39 sts + Work 6 rows in seed stitch $\ ^{*}\mathrm{K}1$ , $\mathbf{P}1^{*}$ ending in K1) Change to US #3 needles and MC Work in SS Inc 1 st at each end of $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ row Inc 1 st at each end of every following $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ row until there are 69 sts Continue in SS until sleeve measures 7 inches. + Bind off all sts

Finishing

Join shoulder seams. Sew sleeve tops into armholes. X Sew sleeve and side seams. Collar + With RS facing, with US #3 needles, slip on 4 sts from right front holder. \* Rejoin CC and pick up 20 sts up the right side of neck, slip 33 from back, pick up 20 down left side of neck and then slip 4 sts from left front holder (81 sts). \* BO 2 sts, work in Seed Stitch ( $\ ^{*}\mathrm{K}1$ , $\mathrm{P}1^{*}$ ending in K1) to end of row. Repeat for next row. (79 sts) \*Work 19 rows in Seed Stitch \* BO loosely. Weave in ends. Heart Pocket \* With SZ#3 needles and CC, CO 1 sts. Into that sts KFBF (3 sts). O Row 1: Purl all sts 0 Row 2: K1, KFB, Knit to second to last sts, KFB, K1 + Repeat until you have 19sts and RS facing. \* Knit 8, BO 1 sts, turn and purl to end. (You can place the other 8 sts on a holder while you work this half of the heart, or just leave them on the needle - whatever is easier for you.) 0 Row 1: K1, SKP, knit to third to last sts, K2TOG, K1 ORow 2: Purl \*Continue untilyou have 3 sts and WS facing. BO 3 sts.Break yarn and repeat on other heart half 8 sts. \*With Crochet hook and CC, pick up one sts at left top heart edge. Chain 3 sts and then work into next heart top knit sts. Work this scallop edge to opposite right side. Break yarn and sew pocket to front of cardigan.
