Pawtuxet is part shawl, part scarf. It has extra fabric at the center like a shawl but wraps like a scarf creating a versatile neck accessory. Pawtuxet is shown in 2 shades of DK weight 100% Alpaca yarn from Ice Pond Farm in Cranston, Rl. Gauge: 20 sts / 24 rows over 4 "/10 cm in garter stitch. Size: 12"/ 30.5 cm x 66"/168 cm Materials: Approx. 350 yds dk weight yarn. Directions

The center lace panel is worked first. The left wing continues from this and is shaped by decreases. Stitches for the right wing are then picked up along the right edge of the lace panel and worked in the same manner as the first wing. Colors are referred to as A (Fawn) and B (White) in the directions. Cast on 38 stitches in A. Join B.

Center Panel

Set up: Row 1: With B, K1, \*[k2tog] 3x, [yo, k1] 6x, [k2tog] 3x, rep from \*; end k1. Row 2: With B, knit. Begin Pattern stitch: Row 1(RS): With A, knit. Row 2(WS): With A, purl. Row 3: With B, K1, \*[k2tog] 3x, [yo, k1] 6x, [k2tog] 3x, rep from \*; end k1. Row 4: With B, knit. Repeat rows 1-4 (13)times. Break B.
