Bohemia Fibers - Barefoot Sock (400 yds/100g) 1 skein. Shown in Target Practice. Requires 300 yds. of fingering weight yarn for shawlette and 20 yds. of fingering weight for swatch. US size 5 (3.75 mm) 40" circular needle, or needle to get gauge
Gauge
Stockinette (blocked): 17 stitches x 33 rows = 4"\* Lace panel (1 - blocked): 3.5’” wide For best gauge swatch, cast on 36 stitches and work two lace patterns across the swatch. Work Lace Rows 1-16 twice. Soak and severely block to open up the lace pattern.

Notes
Row 1 of the Lace pattern is the wrong side of the shawl Short Rows: You will notice an unnatural gap between the two stitches at the turn in the previous row; they may even be a different color if you are using a variegated yarn. You will knit (purl) the two stitches together as directed to close the gap. You can double check your stitch count by adding the total stitches in the previous row minus 1 to get the actual stitch count before the gap. Refer to Chart 2 on pg. 3 for the Stitch Counts before the gap stitches for each row. Each row wil have 4 more stitches before the gap stitches than the previous row.
