Work first 5 sts. Then, repeat sts within red box to last 7 sts. Finally, work last 7 sts. - While working the Ws (all even rows) read the chart from left to right. Work first 7 sts. Then, repeat sts within red box to last 5 sts. Finally, work last 5 sts. FINISHING 3-NEEDLE BIND OFF Carefully undo the provisional cast on from the fastened end of the chain, placing the live stitches onto a spare US 4 needle. Hold the spare needle with cast on sts and needle with working yarn parallel with the right sides facing together and follow the steps below. Step 1: Knit through the first stitch of each needle, taking the stitch off of both needles at the same time. Step 2: Knit through the next stitch of each needle, taking the stitch off of both needles at the same time. Step 3: Pass the first stitch on your right hand needle over the second stitch on your right hand needle. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have no stitches remaining to bind off. Cut yarn and pull the tail through the last stitch on the right hand needle. Block your piece to the finished measurements listed on page 1. You can either use wet blocking or steam blocking to achieve the desired fabric. Weave in all ends after piece has been blocked and dried. You're all done. Great job knitter!

The image above depicts a naturally occurring hollow (or hole) in an aged tree, which was the inspiration behind this beautiful lace and cable pattern.
