Voilillelehed/Dandelion leaves

The top is named after the traditional Estonian name of the stitch pattern voilillelehekiri, which means , dandelion leaves". Needles: 2 mm (recommend longer circular needles or two pairs of shorter circular needles so that you can try on as you knit). Gauge: 14 stitches and 12 rows (one pattern repeat) = 7 cm x 4 cm Numbers in parenthesis refer to M and L sizes. If one number is provided, it is valid for all sizes. The top is worked topdown and seamless. Back and front pieces are identical. The starting line is the shoulder ,seam". From there you work the back and the front pieces separately till the armpit, add underarm stitches and then work in round. Try on as you go! The pattern is easily adjustable. Step 1: Back/front piece: Cast on 77 (91, 105 stitches. For linen, I recommend loose cast on. Knit 4 rows in garter stitch. Then work as follows: 3 stitches in garter stitch (these will be the edge stitches), 71 (85, 99) stitches in the pattern (4 stitches before the 1st repeat, 14 x 4 (5, 6) pattern repeats, 11 stitches after the last repeat), see Chart 1; 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. 0 | knit2together yarnover | Purl wrong side rows (flat knitting), knit wrong side rows (round knitting) Work in this way till the piece is approximately 18.5 (19, 20) cm long (should more or less reach the armpits). In the next right side row, add 1 stitch at each edge (= 79 (93, 107 sts)) and knit one Wrong siderow. Step 2: Front/back piece: turn the work so that right side is facing you and the cast on edge (the ,shoulder seam") is up, pick up from the right edge 18 (23, 28) stitches (shoulder), then with the same yarn cast on 41 (45, 49 stitches) (neck). Starting from the left edge towards the middle count 18 (23, 28) stitches. This will be the place to start picking up stitches for the second shoulder. Pick up 18 stitches. You have 18 + 41 + 18 = 77 (23 + 45 + 23 = 91; 28 + 49 + 28 = 105) stitches. Knit 3 rows in garter stitch, then continue identically to the other piece. Add stitches at each edge, as in the other piece (= 79 (93, 107 stitches)). Step 3: Joining the pieces. Try on. The pieces should nearly meet under the arm but not quite. If the length and/or width is not sufficient, add rows to each piece and, if needed, add more stitches at the edge. When the length/width is sufficient, join the pieces as follows: knit one piece in the pattern, cast on 2 stitches, break the yarn of the second piece and bind it to the working yarn, knit the second piece, cast on 2 stitches. Join and continue in round. You have 79 + 2 + 79 + 2 = 162 (93 + 2 + 93 + 2 = 190; 105 + 2 + 105 + 2 = 214) stitches. Knit side stitches (4 edge stitches + 2 new stitches + 4 edge stitches) in garter stitch, remember that in circular knitting it means knit 1 row, purl 1 row. After a couple of rows, the side stitches (4 + 2 + 4) are worked as in Chart 2. Chart 2: Side stitches
In wrong side rows, knit yarnovers and purl the purl stitches. Continue in this way. Linen fabric quickly takes the shape of your body but if you need, you can add stitches on the sides: just increase purl stitches in the purl stitch section. Try on from time to time. Step 4: when the length is sufficient, knit a couple of rows in garter stitch and bind off loosely. I recommend the following way: knit 1 stitch, yarnover, knit the following stitch, slip yarnover over that stitch. You have 2 stitches on the right needle. Slip the right stitch over the left stitch. Yarnover, knit 1, slip over etc. Copyright by Kuduja kuduja.blogspot.com Please refer to the pattern whenever you use it Similar Design Patterns![]() Guide Complet pour Tricoter le Châle RUSTIQUE avec Madeline Tosh DandelionRUSTIQUE Madeline Tosh Dandelion 325 yards/297 M Aiguilles 4 1 aiguille auxiliaire 134 cm X 40 cm Le chale se tricote en trois parties.
