Size: 2 - 4- 6 - 8 year Length: 36-40-44-48 cm With: 63-67-70-73 cm Yarn: Use a yarn that gives 12 sts on needle size 7 = 10 cm. I have used Alpaca Superfine from Viking. Other good ex are: Alfa from Sandnes. Color-1 = Blue: 150-150-150-200 gram Color-2 = Brown: 150-150-200-200 gram Accessories: 2 buttons, approx. 25 mm in diameter. Needles: Circular needles and double pointed needles size 6 and 7. GARTER ST (knit in the flat): K all rows 1 ridge = K 2 rows GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle): 1 ridge = K 1 round, P 1 round. BODY: Work in the round on circular needle. Cast on 68-72-76-80 sts on circular needle size 6 mm with color-1. P 1 round and work 2 ridges in garter st. Switch to circular needle size 7 mm and color-2. Insert 1 marker in each side = 34-36-38-40 sts on each side of marker, continue with stocking st. When piece measures 10 cm, inc 1 st on each side of both markers. Rep inc when piece measures 18-20-22- 24 cm = 76-80-84-88 sts. When piece measures 21-24-27-30 cm, switch to color-1 and circular needle size 6. Work 3 ridges in garter st. Then P 1 round and bind off 6 sts in both sides for armholes. Put piece aside and workthesleeves.
SLEEVES:
Cast on 18-20-22-24 sts on double pointed needles size 6 mm with color1. P 1 round and work 2 ridges in garter st. Switch to circular needle size 7 mm and color-2. Insert 1 marker at beg of round (= mid under sleeve), continue with stocking st. When piece measures 6 cm, inc 1 st on each side of marker, rep inc every 3-4-5-6 cm in a total of 5 times = 28-30- 32-34 sts. When piece measures 21-25-28-32 cm, change to color-1 and double pointed needles size 6 mm. Work 3 ridges in garter st, then P 1 round and bind at the same time off 6 sts mid under sleeve. Put piece aside and knit another sleeve.
YOKE:
Slip sleeves on to same circular needle size 7 as body, where armholes were bound off = 108-116-124-132 sts. Insert 1 marker in all transitions between sleeves and body piece (= 4 markers). Continue with stocking st and 4 sts in garter st in every transitions (= 2 sts on each side of each marker). When it is worked 4 rounds, dec 1 st on each side of the markers, start 2 sts before the garter st: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, 4 garter st, K 2 tog (= dec 8 sts). Rep dec on every 4th round in a total of 2-2-3-3 times, then on every 2th round in a total of 6- 7-6-7 times. At the same time, when it is worked 5 rounds with stocking st, continue garter st also over the 4 sts mid front (to button band). When it remains 2 dec, slip the mid 8 sts on a stitch holder for neck. Continue back and forth on needle - at the same time bind off 1 st on start of row 2 times in both sides. At the same time as last dec, dec 2-2-4-4 sth evenly on back piece. After all dec and bind offs, there are 30-30-36-36 sts left.
COLLAR:
Use double pointed needles size 6 and color-1. Start in front and pick up 4 sts at the back of the 4 garter st mid front, then pick up the 2 sts at the left side on stitch holder, pick up 2-3 sts in the inc for neck and K all the sts on needle, pick up 2-3 st in the inc for neck, and then the 6 remain sts on the tread = 46 to 54 sts. Continue garter st back and forth from mid front. When it's worked 1 rigde, make 1 buttonhole on left side of collar like this: K 3th and 4th st at the end of row tog and make 1 YO, K the 2 last sts. K 3 more rows, bind off.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the openings under the sleeves tog and sew on the buttons.
