Rapt in a Rainbow By neish designs
This is a simple recipe idea for a large cowl. Size: One Size; Circumference approx. 213cm/84in

Materials: approx. 200mtrs/ 219yds of Aran and/or Chunky weigt yarn in lots of different colours. Needles: 8mm /US 11 Here's how the cowl came about - I had lots of bits of aran and chunky weight yarn in different colours, some of which came from a swatch book. The colours were just too lush and gorgeous to throw away and, speaking as a knitter, doing so would have been something close to a crime so I got to thinking about how I could use them to makesomethingwearable. Each length of yarn was approx. 30.5cm/12in in length (this wasn't too important because gauge and length were not determining factors for the idea -yarn was)!
And,here'swhatI did:
I tied each length of yarn together (l tried to do this randomly but, on more than one occasion, my brain told my eye "no, that's not aesthetically pleasing - put somel thought into it"! I left all the knots and straggly bits visible to give a thrown together kind of look and feel - this is by no means a neat and tidy accessory, it's a 'give me a cowl. I need something warm to put around my neck that will also add some cheer to this otherwise cold wet winter'.

I cast on 15sts and knit one row. Row 1: \* k1, wrap yarn around needle twice\*; rpt from \*-\* to last st, k1. Row 2: knit all knit sts, drop all wrapped sts. Row3:knit. Repeat these 3 rows until you run out of.yarn or untilyou reach the desired length. Finishing: Seam ends together. Do Not Weave in ends!
