At the end, you will have 5 stitches left; cut off the yarn in a long tail, thread a needle through the remaining stitches, pull tight. Weave in all ends. Block, stretch if necessary. Finished! 4. Trivia, Tips and more I made two versions of the hat, one with the typical blue & white, and a retro-one with a jeanslike color and light beige. Both are awesome. Just use whatever shades or even colors you want; stick with blue & white for the American feeling, but if you feel like using neon-green and black, go for it! Pay attention when you are working the first chart: use markers if you want. But watch out that you don't pull your hat too tightly or you will have problems later on!
