Knitted Cast On: For this cast on, I like to turn my work, so my RH needle is now my LH needle, and my working yarn is attached to the last stitch on my LH needle. Insert the tip of your RH needle into the center of the next stitch on your LH needle. Wrap your yarn counterclockwise (as you normally would), and pull yarn through to the front of your work - just like a knit stitch - however, do not drop the stitch from your LH needle! Instead, insert the tip of your LH needle to into this new stitch from the bottom to the top and slide this stitch from the RH needle to the LH needle. One stitch cast on. Continue in this manner until you have the required number of stitches. Remember to turn your work again, so your LH needle is once more your RH needle. (You do not have to turn your work to cast on in this manner, but I prefer to add this step, as it leaves my new stitches on my RH needle and eliminates the gap between stitches that occurs when you work the cast on withoutturning.) KYOK (knit, yarn over, knit): knit into the next stitch without dropping the stitch from the needle, yarn over, and knit into the same stitch again. P1-r/b (purl into the row below): with yarn in front, insert the tip of your right-hand needle into the top of the stitch in the row below the next stitch on your left-hand needle; wrap your yarn around the needle and pull the new stitch through to the front of your work - as you would typically work a purl stitch. (one stitch increased). Work the next st on your left-hand needle (the stitch above the one you just increased into) as instructed. Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off (JSSBO): This is a great bind off to use anywhere you need your edge to have some extra stretch. It's especially suited to socks, sleeves, necklines, and anywhere you have ribbing that you want to stretch, but not lose its elasticity. The internet, YouTube particularly, has many videos to demonstrate the technique. See a photo tutorial here: http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/FEATjssbo.php Want to cable without a cable needle? It's easier than you think! Try this: T2B: Insert your RH needle purl-wise into the front of the 2nd st on your LH needle. (The first st on your LH needle stays behind your RH needle, like it would if you placed it on a cable needle and held it to the back of your work). Very carefully slide these 2 sts off the LH needle. Holding a finger at the base of the free st, return it (PW) to your LH needle. Slide the st on your RH needle (PW) back to the LH needle and workbothstsasinstructed.Tada! (The T2F is worked similarly, but you begin by inserting your RH into the back leg of the 2nd st on your LH needle. With the first st on your LH needle in front of your RH needle, as it would be if you were to place the st on a cable needle and hold it to the front of your work!) YouTube is a great resource for videos on this technique.
Sizing Optiony.
To make your gloves larger or smaller, increase or decrease the number of stitches you cast on by 4 sts for every 1/2" (1.25 cm) difference in hand circumference. For example: If you're knitting for a hand that is 8.5 inches (20 cm) around, youll want to add 8 sts to your CO to make your glove 1" (2.5 cm) bigger. These additional stitches will be considered 'palm' stitches, and will be worked on the opposite (palm) side of your Tangled LeavesPanel. if you prefer a shorter length, you may omit Rounds 1 through 12. This will make your gloves approximately 1" (2.5 cm) shorter. If you would like a longer glove, you may repeat Rounds 23 through 58 to add approximately 3" (7.5 cm) to the length.

Charted lnstructiony
Notey.
All charted rows are worked from right to left, beginning with Round 1. In order to save space and simplify the chart, only the decorative panel is charted; the body of the fingerless glove is not. Follow the written instructionsbelow in tandemwith the chart. Because each round is not entirely charted out, you may find it helpful to mark the placement of the charted stitches with stitch markers.
