Cast on 4 stitches. Set up rows: Knit 2 rows. Now begin pattern rows. Pattern Rows: Row 1 (knit side -RS): K2, yarn over, K to end of row. Row 2 (purl side- WS): K2, yarn over, P to last 2 stitches, K2. Repeat Rows 1-2 of pattern until 124 stitches on needles. K - Knit K2tog - knit 2 together P- Purl RS - right side WS - wrong side yo - yarn over (You are now going to make a matching eyelet row for your border across the top of the shawl.) Next row (knit side): K2, \*yo, k2tog\* to last 2 stitches, then yo, K2. (The knit side is the right side of the shawl. The following contradicts this and it's correct.) Next row (purl side -WS): K Next row (knit side- RS): K Final row (purl side): Bind off loosely in K2tog bind off method. Weave in ends. Do not block. Let shawl collar curl for the "rolled collar" look. alternative ideas: Block it and wear it flat instead. Or increase size (number of stitches) for a larger shawl.
