Woven Rib Dishcloth

This is a fairly simple and interesting pattern that works well with solid or variegated cotton yarn.

Pattern illustration

Materials:

- at least 50 grams of cotton yarn, although I found that I used less when making mine. I used Sugars and Cream but any kind will work. - Size 7 needles, or size needed to obtain gauge on label. -Darning needle to weave in ends. Abbreviations: - K- Knit - P- Purl

Pattern:

Cast on 42 stitches, or any multiple of 6. Row 1 is the wrong side, row 2 is the right side. Row 1 - k2, p2 \*k4, p2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, k2. Row 2 - p2, k2 \*p4, k2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, p2. Row 4 - k2, p2 \*k4, p2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, k2. Row 5 - k2, p2 \*k4, p2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, k2. Row 6 - p2, k2 \*p4, k2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, p2. Row 7 - k2, p2 \*k4, p2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, k2. Row 8 - p2, k2 \*p4, k2\* repeat to last 2 stitches, p2. Repeat rows 3-8, 9 times (for a total of 10) but on the last repeat do not do row 7 or 8, stop at row 6 (so it matches the beginning). Bind off knit wise and sew in loose strings with darning needle. @ 2011 by Lisa Urban. This pattern may not be sold for profit, but items made from it may.
