Left-over sock yarn (I used Regia Mini Ringel Color) Double point needles size 2.5mm Needle to sew in the ends Directions: Using two needles held together cast on 32 stitches and join to knit in the round. Knit 14 rows of ribbing (k2, p2 around). Heel: The heel is worked on the first 16 stitches. Row 1: knit across 16 stitches, turn leaving the other stitches to rest. Row 2: k2, purl 12, k2. Repeat these 2 rows 4 times, a total of 8 rows, ending on a wrong side row.
Heel gusset:
The heel gusset is worked on the same 16 stitches as the heel. k10, slip 1, k1, psso, turn. Sl1, purl 4, p2tog, turn. \*sll, kto 1 stitch before gap, sl1, k1, psso, turn. Sl1, p to 1 stitch before gap. p2tog, turn.\* Repeat from\* to \* until all stitches have been knit and 6 stitches remain.
Foot:
Knit across row, pick up 5 stitches along left edge, knit across instep and pick up 5 stitches along right edge. You now have a total of 32 stitches on the needles. Arrange your stitches so that the beginning of the round is now in the middle of the heel. Needle#1 should have 3 stitches from the heel and 5 stitches from the side to make 8 stitches total. Needle #2 should have 16 stitches from the instep. Needle #3 should have 5 stitches from the side and 3 stitches from the heel to make 8 stitches total. Toe: Needle #1: Knit to 3 stitches before the end of needle sl1, k1, psso, k1. Needle #2: k1, k2tog, knit to 3 stitches before the end of needle sl1, k1, psso, k1. Needle #3: k1, k2tog, knit to end. Knit this round until 8 stitches are left. K2tog around. Break yarn and pull it through the remaining 4 stitches. Weave in any loose ends.
