Custom Crocheted Basket

Materials:

0 1 skein of I Love This Cotton or 180 yards/100 grams/3.5oz of your preferred cotton yarn to make similar to basket shown. If you decide to make a larger basket you'll need more yarn. 0 F hook/3.75mm or hook that will give a tight stitch with your yarn. oYarn needle o Stitch marker OScissors

(30 sc) Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across using both loops (30 sc) Row 3-20: Repeat Row 2 \*Note\* Pattern is now worked in rounds, joined with a ss at the end of each round. Move marker up with each round to help you keep track of your sts. At the end of Row 20, ch 1, insert stitch marker, but do not turn. Rotate the piece 90 degrees. Now working on the end of the rows, sc 20 evenly in the ch ends, using the FLO, rotate 90 degrees, sc in the next 30 sts (foundation row), rotate 90 degrees, sc 20 evenly in the ch ends, rotate 90 degrees, sc in the FLO of the next 30 sts. Join with ss into marked stitch. (100 sc)

SC Rounds:

Round 1: Ch 1, sc in same st and each st around. Join with ss in marked st. (100 sts) Rounds 2-??: Repeat Round 1 for a desired number of rounds. In my example, I did 9 rounds.

Cross Stitch Rounds:

Round 1: ch 3 (counts as a dc throughout), dc in PREVIOuS st of the last round. One DC Cross Stitch made. \*Skip 1 st, dc in next st, dc in skipped st. \*\* Repeat from \* to \*\* Join with ss in top of ch 3. (50 dc cross stiches) Repeat SC and Cross Stitch rounds alternately for desired height. In this example, I did 3 rounds of dc cross stitches. Between each of those rounds is a sc round. After last dc cross stitch round, do 3 more sc rounds. Finish off after last sc round, weave in ends. \~All Rights Reserved \~ Do not redistribute or sell this pattern. Handles:

Make 2. Leave a long tail (6-10 inches) for sewing to basket. Row 1: ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and remaining chs. (3 sc) Row 2 -20: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across (3 sc) \*\*At end of Row 20, finish off,leaving a long tail for sewing to basket. Sew handles to short sides of basket, leaving 6 stitches between the handle sides.
