Newborn Knit Overalls
Materials:
10 needles circular needles Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Paton's Classic Wool color Grey Mix) Yarn Needle F crochet hook (for crochet straps) 2 Double Point Needles 2 Buttons 16 mm 2 Buttons 19 mm Gauge: 4 stitches per inch Pattern by ShaeKnits, Copyright 2015. Cast on 48 stitches. Join in the round being careful not twist stitches. Work in roundsasfollows: 1. \*k1, p1\* 2. \*k1, p1\* 3.\*k1, p1\* Knit in the round until piece from beginning measures 5 % inches. Loosely B0 14 stitches Knit next 10 stitches Loosely BO 14 stitches Knit last 10 stitches With the 10 stitches that are still attached to your working yarn work in rows as follows 1. Purl 2. Knit 3. Purl 4. Knit With the other 10 stitches unworked turn work inside out and loosely do a 3 needleBo. I would suggest sewing in the tail now. Turn work right side out and pick up 20 stitches in the middle of the shorts right under the waist ribbing underneath the 3 rows of k1, p1 Work on bib as follows. Purl side: K1, Purl 18, K1 When bib measures 4 % inches bind off loosely in I Straps: (Make 2) Chain 30 stitches. Double crochet in the 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across. Finish off. Sew two of your buttons on the front of the bib and the other two on the tail end of the straps. To finish: Sew in any other loose ends. Draw yarn through the inside of the shorts portion at waist ribbing for drawstring purposes. Enjoy! Finished Measurements: Top of bib-crotch measures approximately 9 % inches.
This is after the B0 14, K10, B014, K10 portion. As you notice you have 20 stitches left. 10 still attached to the working yarn and 10 unattached.
This is after the 4 rows. Get ready to turn work inside out and do a 3 needle BO.
