Pink Striped Anklets

Pattern illustration

pattern by: $\copyright$ 2006 Rilana Riley-Munson) These socks are self-striped and are more like slipper socks and great for keeping ones feet warm while hanging out in the living room, or wherever. They are stretchy and should fit an average sized female foot. You can use any color of Wool Ease yarn. Stripe it wacky with green and yellow, or more mute like my dark pink and pale pink ones. It's up to you. Have fun and Happy Knitting!

Materials:

-Set of four # US 4 double pointed needles (dpn's). -2 skeins of Lionbrand Wool Ease (197 yds, 3 oz.); \*One skein in Dark Rose Heather # 629-139 (MC), \*One skein in Blush Heather # 620-104 (CC) -Yarn needle to sew in the ends. -A stitch holder if you desire, to hold foot stitches while you work the heel flap. Size: These socks fit me and I wear a size 9 in women's. They are stretchy and would fit anyone with a $7.9^{\prime\prime}$ foot. Average women’s size. The size of the foot is customize-able by how many rounds you knit even on that section.

To Make the Socks:

-Cast on 48 stitches with MC -Divide sts on 3 needles (16, 16, 16) -Knit in K2, P2 ribbing for 10 rounds. -Next round: Don;t cut MC, attach CC and begin knitting stockinette for 22 rounds, changing from CC to MC every two rounds. I carried the yarn up, on the inside, each time I changed colors. No need to cut yarn at all. After 22 rounds of striping, end with 2 CC rounds. -Next: Knit 1 round in MC

Divide for Heel Flap

Still with MC, Knit 24 sts onto needle # 1. If you wish, place remaining stitches on a stitch holder. I leave mine on another needle, this will be the top of the foot, later.
