Materials
· Sz 4 dpns, or circular needles of your choice · 2 balls of Felted Tweed, in Crush and Melody (or any DK weight yarn in any color combination) · Stitch markers · Blunt needle for sewing in the ends
Gauge
36 sts in pattern stitch gives me 5 inches. Post-blocking measurements = 22" around Pattern Stitch Rnd 1 (MC): k Rnd 2 (MC) : (k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, slip 1-k2tog-psso MC - main color CC - contrast color
Directions
Cast on 132 sts, join in round Knit Rnd 1 and 2 in MC of your choice Knit Rnd 3 and 4 in CC of your choice Repeat Rnds 1 through 4 until hat measures 6 1/2" from the beginning.
Decrease Rnds
132 sts gives you 11 groups of 12. You can choose to place a marker after every 12 sts or just count. Rnd 1: (ssk, k 8, k2tog) 11 times - (22 sts decreased, 110 sts left)
Rnd 2: \*(k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, sl 1-k2tog-psso\* until the end of round, k2. Rnd 3: (ssk, k6, k2tog) 11 times - (22 sts decreased, 88 sts left) Rnd 4: \*(k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, sl 1-k2tog-psso\* until the end of round Rnd 5: (ssk, k4, k2tog) 11 times - (22 sts decreased, 66 sts left) Rnd 6: \*(k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, sl 1-k2tog-psso\* until the end of round, k2 Rnd 7: (ssk, k2, k2tog) 11 times - (22 sts decreased, 44 sts left) Rnd 8: \*(k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, sl 1-k2tog-psso\* until the end of round Rnd 9: (ssk, k2tog) 11 times - (22 sts decreased, 22 sts left) Rnd 1o: \*(sl 2 as if to knit, k2tog, psso)\* until the end of round. id remaining sts through with the needle and sew in all remaining ends.
