
By Audrey K These little guys (or girls) whip up real quick and are great stash busters! They are wonderful last minute gifts and are sure to please anyone they meet. Gauge is unimportant, but make sure that it is tight enough so no stuffing shows! If you are making this for a young child you might want to replace the safety eyes with some yarn. Have fun!
Materials (or what I used)
OFive U.S size 7 Dpn OTwo U.S size 3 Dpn OB, About 0.6 oz Sugar'n Cream in Warm brown and Ecru held together. C, Small amounts of black in Sugar'n Cream A, Small amount of Lion Brand Homespun in Rococo. OFiber-fill Optional - safety eyes
Abbreviations

ODpn= double pointed needles Co =cast on K=knit P=purl P2tog= purl two together K2tog=knit two together OSt(s)=stitch(es) OM1=make one OPm=place marker
Eye mask make two
With A Co 1 st Row 1: K1, P1, K1 all in the same st (3) Row 2: Purl Row 3: Kfb in all sts (6) Row 4: Purl Row 5: Kfb in all sts (12) Divide sts onto 3 Dpn pm Row 6: Knit Row 7: Kfb in all sts (24) Bo using Russian Bo leaving a long tail (5 in)(knit two sts then transfer them back to your left needle without twisting them and knit them together threw back loops) You will have a hole were you joined, sew that up with the tail from the Bo. When you complete the second circle sew them both together using whip stitch.
Head
With B pick up one st where the two

circles meet and knit it. Then pick up two more sts right above the st you just picked up starting with the right side. Purl those three sts. Along the whole diameter of the eye mask pick up a total of 31 sts. (not including the sts you already picked up) 34 sts. Pm Round 1: knit Round 2: Knit 6 w+t Round 3: bring yarn to back of work to the st before the row and P2 w+t Round 4,5,6: Knit Round 7:\* K4 K2tog\* repeat to end of round (29) Round 8: Knit Round 9:\*K3 K2tog\* repeat to end of round (24) Round 10: Knit Round 11:\*K2 K2tog\* repeat to end of round (18)

If desired attach safety eyes and stuff the head Round 12: Knit Round 13:\*K1 K2tog\* repeat the end of round (12) Cut yarn and tread yarn on a darning needle. Thread thru remaining sts and secure yarn.
Beak
With C Co 2 sts and work 3 rows of lcord. Cut yarn and pull thru both sts. Secure to head and weave in ends.
Body
With B Co 4 sts and working I-cord Kfb in every st. Divide sts onto 3 Dpns and join round. Pm Round 1: Knit Round 2:\*K2 M1\* to end of round make sure to M1 in between the first and last st in the round. Feet Make 2
Using two size 3 Dpns and A Co 4 and work 4 rows I-Cord. Put three sts onto wy with the working yarn coming out of the st on the needle. Knit 2 rows I-Cord and switch to C. Knit 1 row then BO. Repeat for other two toes. (2 sts for middle toe 1 for outside toe) you will have to rejoin the yarn) Weave in loose ends.

Assembly
Sew the two wings onto the side of the body and weave in any loose ends. Then sew head on thru both loops of the body. Sew feet to body, weave in loose ends, and voila! You now have a super cute owl. Enjoy!
