Kitteh Blanket

Your pet will love to snuggle up in this squishy and warm garter stitch blanket. I've knit several of these blankets and we use them to line the insides of our cats' sleeping baskets making sure that they are kept warm and snuggly. This blanket is knit in diagonal (from one corner to the opposite corner). It is an easy and fast knit and very easy to customize (blanket size or yarn weight) if desired.

Preparations - divide the yarn?:
You can knit this in any size and with any amount of yarn. If you only have a limited amount of yarn available I recommend dividing the yarn before casting on: ·Weigh your yarn and divide it into two equal portions. · Use the first portion for the first section (the increase part) of the blanket and the second portion for the second section (the decrease part) of the blanket. Dividing your yarn available will be helpful in making sure that you will have enough yarn to finish the blanket. If you have plenty of yarn available, then I recommend that you knit until you are happy with the measurement of the first section of the blanket, and then proceed with the second section.
First section (the increase part):
Cast on 3 stitches. Row 1 (ws): k3 Row 2 (rs): k1, kfb, knit until 2 stitches left, kfb, k1 Row 3 (ws): k3 Repeat row 2 and 3 until blanket have reached the desired size for first section.
Second section (the decrease part):
Row 3 (rs): k1, k2tog, knit until 3 stitches left, ssk, k1 Row 4 (ws): k3 Repeat row 3 and 4 until only 3 stitches remain. Last row: Bind off 3 remaining stitches.
