Graphic Mountains Sunglasses Case Maria Krebs

Seattle is surrounded by mountains - the Cascades to the East, the Olympics to the west, Rainier to the south, Baker and Adams to the north. On cloudy days though, you would never know it. When the sun comes out in Seattle, the skylineis transformed. On days like that, you will often hear Seattleites say “the mountains are out!" I love that, after three years in Seattle, mountains are equated with sunshine-filled days in my mind. For my first original pattern, I wanted to design a "the mountains are out" sunglasses case. This case is double-knit. This has the advantage of colorwork without loops to snag while pulling glasses in and out of it, as well as providing a doubly thick fabric to protect your sunglasses. purl stitches onto another. Then, graft the stitches together using the Kitchener stitch. \*note: at this point, you should decide if you want the “mountains"to be white or black. Fold the case so that the side you want is on the outside.

Seam Sides

Seam the sides together using the mattress stitch. Stitch on the outside layer of stockinette to make a neat outside. Make sure that you leave a gap on the top of each side - long enough to fit the side openings of the kisslock frame that you bought. If you are concerned about the neatness of the inside, you can turn it inside-out and do mattress stitch again on the inside seams.

Frame

There are two types of kisslock frames. If you bought the ones with holes, insert the ends of the case into the frame and stitch it in. if you bought one without premade holes, the best way to attach is glue! Fill the ridge with glue and feed the fabric into it.
