Materials needed: 3 oz. of yellow worsted weight yarn, small amount of leaf green colored worsted yarn size 8 straight, double point, and 16" circular needles or size needed to complete the gauge ( 4 sts. to 1") yarn needle scissors With straight needles cast on 2 stitches Petals: Row 1and odd rows: Knit Row 2 and even rows: Increase one in first and last stitches in Knit Continue until there are 10 stitches on the needles. Break off and slide stitches onto a spare needle. Make 8 of these petals. Slide all 80 stitches onto the circular needle. Being careful not to twist , place a marker and knit around. Purl one row, Knit one row , purl onerow Knit around until piece measures 6 " for a child or 7" for an adult sized hat Decrease rows: Attach green yarn. Row 1: With yellow knit 6, with green knit 2 together around. Row 2: Knit 6 yellow, K 1 green Row 3 Knit 4 yellow, Knit 1 green , K 2 together with green, repeat Row 4: Knit 4 yellow, K2 green Row 5: K 2 yellow, K 1 green , K 2 tog green Row 6: K 2 yellow, K 3 green around, fasten off yellow. Row 7:with green, K 3, K 2 tog around Row 8: Knit Row 9: K 2, K 2 tog around Row 10: Knit Row 11: K 1, K tog around Row 12: Knit Row 13: K 2 tog around until 4 stitches remain. Knit 2 and 1/2 inches of I-cord Decrease by knitting 2 tog until 1 stitch remains, fasten off and fasten to top of hat. Fasten in all ends

Tuck in all ends and fasten to top of hat.
