Notes

The two rows of leaves are knit as part of the wrist ribbing. Each leaf is knit over 5 stitches with a separate ball of yarn on its own needle. Five stitches are then picked up across the base of the leaf to contine the p1,k1 ribbing. One additional stitch is purled for the ribbing before the next leaf is started. With so many loose ends it is important to work in the ends as you knit each leaf. As the first 5 stitches of each new leaf are purled, wrap the yarn end around the work yarn with each new stitch. At the end of the row, wrap the end around again to bring it to the inside of mitten wrist. Work this yarn end in the interior wrist when you finish the leaf. Also work the yarn end at the tip of each leaf down the leaf back and then down the interor wrist ribbing. CO 36 sts. Divide evenly between 3 needles. Place marker (pm) and join for working in rnds, being careful not to twist sts. K1,P1 ribbing over 36 sts. Continue in ribbing for rows or until piece measures 2 1/2".
