Bottom of the box
Start with the silver colour thread Ch 13 Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 10 ch; 3 sc in last ch, turn sideways and continue along the other side of the ch, sc in next 10 ch, 2 sc in first ch of this rnd, sl st to first sc Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same place as sl st, 2 sc in ea of next 2 sc, sc in each of next 10 sc, 2 sc in ea of next 3 sc, sc in ea of next 10 sc, join with a sl st to first ch Rnd 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in same place as sl st, sc in ea of next 11 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in ea of next 10 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) twice, join with sl st to first ch Yarn: Schachenmayer Catania Hook size: 2.5 mm Rnd 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in same place as sl st, sc in ea of next 2 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) twice, sc in ea of next 10 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) 3 times, 1 sc in ea of next 10 sc, join with sl st to first ch. Turn.
Continue this way for 10 rows. Rnd 11: Sc in each sc Rnd 12: sl st in each sc Rnd 13-17: Sl st in each sl st Rnd 14-35: Switch to blue colour, sc in each hc / sc Rnd 36-42: Switch back to silve colour, sl t in each sc / sl st, bo. This simple pattern is based on crocheting the oval shape, and using slip stitches for creating texture around the rims.
Top
Proceed identically to the bottom, but continue with the increases to rnd 11. Start with the blue thread, then switch to the silver from rnd 7. Rnd 12: on the hind side of the work, sc in the back of each sc (no increase line) Rnd 13: sc in each sc Rnd 14-19: sl st in each sc / sl st Rnd 20: sc in each sl st
Flowers:
Pull a magic loop. Ch4, sl st in the loop 5 times, b.o. Make 5 flowers. Use thin (size 10) crochet thread to embroider the tree branches, then sew on the flowers.
