Kristina V. 2012 Yarn: 250 g Madame Tricote Safir (20% wool, 80% acrylic; 180m/100g) or Needles: 5 mm circulars, 5 mm dpns, or suitable to obtain a nice fabric Cable needle, stitch markers, stitch holders or spare yarn, darning needle For a 60-65 cm chest (4T), intended to be a loose fit. CO 104. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches, place marker or a scrap of yarn to indicate beg of row. Work 8 rounds twisted 1x1 rib (\*ktbl, p1\*). R9: k10, p2, complete r1 of cable chart, p2, knit until marker. Work 7 repeats of the chart plus 1 row. Next row: BO the front middle 34 s-s. You now have 70 s. Work back and forth for 6 rnds. Next RS rnd, BO for the armholes: k9, BO 8, k36, BO 8, k9. Either work on the three pieces one at a time while placing the other sections on hold; or use the other end of the ball; and another ball to be able to work on them simultaneously. Next WS row, decrease in every piece by one stitch at armhole end by p2tog, you now have 8 + 34 + 8 s. Work 18 rows. Use Kitchener stitch to graft the shoulder seams. Leave the live back s-s on a holder or spare yarn. For the sleeves, pick up stitches around the armholes, with a 1:1 ratio underarms, and a 2:3 ratio on the sides (approx 34 s-s). For a neater look, don't pick up the s-s on the very edge, but the ones next to them instead. Work approximately 60 rounds or 4 cm less than desired sleeve length (consider leaving growing room), then work 8 rounds twisted rib, BO. For the shawl collar, pick up stitches along one side, the back and down the other side. For a neater look, don't pick up the s-s on the very edge, but the ones next to them instead. Work 30+ rows twisted rib (WS rows: \*ptbl, k1\*).BO and sew overlapping to the front. (Pictured with 26 rows of rib because I wanted to use up a specific amount of yarn.)
