Abbreviations
Tr - treble St(s) - stitch(es)
Method
1. Make a circle with the yarn (often called a magic circle) and work 2ch (for height) and 15 tr into this circle. Draw up the circle by pulling on the tail of yarn) Slip-stitch to the top of the first tr. to join. 2. $^{*}2\mathrm{ch}$ (forms one side of a petal), 2tr into next st., 2ch, slip-stitch into next st (forms the other side of the petal). This has now formed one petal of the flower. Slip-stitch into next stitch. Repeat from \* to end (5 petals). Break off yarn and darn in the end. Use the end of the yarn ring (magic circle) to sew on the button in the centre of the flower. You can use the flower(s) in many different ways, such as: a corsage a table decoration (glue on to a little stick as a ^stem) $\bullet$ a decorative wreath (glue them onto a foam or twig ring) a decorative fastening on a present trimming on clothes or a bag on a greetings card
