These fingerless mitts are perfect for active kids, and Couldn't be simpler to make. In a bulky yarn, they knit up fast! These can be knit for any size hand with the addition or subtraction of a few stitches. The back is a clean slate for appliques or embroidery. The instructions are given in three child sizes: S (5-6), M (7-9), L (10-12)). Feel free to use this pattern as you like. Materials: Size 8 dpn needles 1 skein bulky weight (7 wpi) yarn (l used thrifted/recycled wool yarn for both samples. I believe they were Noro Kochoran and Cascade 128.) Embroidery needle for finishing

Instructions:

Cast on 24 (26, 28) sts. Join for knitting in the round, being careful not the twists the sts. (You may use a stitch marker here if you like.) K 12 (14, 16) rows (You can adjust the length as you like here.) Thumb hole: At the end of the last K row, turn work and P one row. Turn work again and K one row. Turn again and P one row. (For size L, repeat one more turned K and P row each). This will leave a hole for the thumb to fit through. Turn work again and K 3 rows, knitting the hole closed. Single rib stitch for 5 rows (\*K1, Pl, repeat \*). BO in single rib stitch. Weave in loose ends. Let's Duet 2016
