Simple Knit Sleep Mask/Blindfold with Crochet Ties
Double crochet ties that pull through loops on either side so the mask can be tied with a bow at the back or side of the head. Increasing and decreasing shapes the eye covers and provides minimal bunching at the ears andnose.

Intermediate- knit, purl, increase, decrease, grafting, provisional cast on
Size
Facemask (excluding ties) 8.5 inches long by 3 inches wide at the widest. Ties are 28 inches long and folded in half to be 14 inches.
Yarn
30 yards worsted weight yarn
Materials
-US #6/4mm needles or size to get gauge -Tapestry needle -4 mm crochet hook
Gauge
5 stitches and 6 rows in stockinette stitch
Abbreviations
M1- Make 1 K- Knit P- Purl K2tog- Knit 2 stitches together SSK- Slip slip knit
Directions
Loop One
Cast on 6 stitches using a provisional cast on. Row 1: P. Row 2: K. Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more. Purl 1 row. Pick up 6 stitches from cast on and knit together with stitches on the needle- 6 stitches.

Eye One
Row 1: K2, p2, k2. Row 2: K2, m1, k2, m1, k2. Row 3: K2, p4, k2. Row 4: K2, m1, knit to last 2, m1, k2. Row 5: K2, purl to last 2, k2. Repeat rows 4 and 5 until 16 stitches total. Row 6: K. Row 7: K2, p12, k2. Repeat rows 6 and 7 once more. Row 8: K2, ssk, k8, k2tog, k2. Row 9: K2, p10, k2. Row 10: K. Row 11: K2, purl to last 2, k2. Row 12: K2, ssk, k6, k2tog, k2. Row 13: K2, p8, k2. Row 14: K2, ssk, k4, k2tog, k2. Row 15: K2, p6, k2. Row 16: K2, ssk, k2, k2tog, k2. Row 17: K2, p4, k2.

Loop Two
Row1: K. Row2:P. Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more. Knit 1 row. Graft the 6 stitches to start of loop. Weave in all ends.
Ties
Chain 36 inches with crochet hook. Turn. Skipping first chain, work a slip stitch in each chain. Break yarn and weave inends.
