Show your lrish by making up a batch of these lovely and practical washcloths. Knit in worsted-weight cotton, the cloths knit up quickly. This project is a great way to practice chart-reading - altho I have included both Chart and row-byrow directions.
Material:
worsted-weight cotton yarn (sample done with Eco-Cotton in Celery) US #8 needles Mary C. Gildersleeve, Design-Artist 112 Green Spring Road, Locust Grove, Virginia 22508 540-412-9055 bhwh.mary@gmail.com www.marygildersleeve.com stitch markers note that you will be creating this shamrock “upside down" - the top begins on row 8 (yes, it's a ws row with purls, but it will be fine) this is a great item for practicing reading charts. I usually slip the first st of EVERY row - this gives a nice selvage edge to the cloth - this selvage is included in the directions. I've included the row-by-row directions, but try to “read" the chart (referring to the directions if you're stumped).
