Cobblestone Fingerless Mitts

Super cozy, super simple, super warm fingerless mitts for the boys and men (and females, too, of course!). Sample shown done in FibraNatura's Cobblestone, a washable merino wool in a DK-weight. Knit in the round, this design is written for teen/adultS with changes for adultM/L in( )s; and the mitts are ready to C201 iiniabar wear as soon as they come off the needles with no seams to sew!
Material:
150 yards DK-weight washable Merino wool (samples shown: each used 1 skein of FibraNatura's Cobblestone in colors 305 and 307) US #3 dpns (or circs for magic loop method of knitting in the round) ?stitchmarkers Copyright 2012 - Mary C. Join (being careful not to twist). k2p2 for 20 (24) rnds inc rnd for thumb: work 24 (26), C0 16 (20), work 24 (26) sts - 64 (72) sts on needles. work k2p2 as established (incorporating new sts into k2p2 pattern) even for 6 rnds dec for thumb gusset: 1. Work 23 (25), pm, k2tog, work 14(18), ssk, pm, work 23 (25) sts. 2 sts dec. 2. work rnd as est, slipping markers when come to them 3. work to marker, slip marker, k2tog, work to 2 sts before marker, ssk, slip marker, work to end. 2 sts dec rep rnds 2 and 3 until all thumb sts have been dec; you will now have 48 (52) sts on your needles. work as established for another 24rnds.
