Modeled by Cathy frater, Photographed by Petra Vatne These versatile leg warmers can be worn inside out or outside in, upside down or downside up. There is no wrong way to wear them. You can knit them any size and any colors. A great way to use up leftover sock yarns. Size: Teens and Women's Medium-Large Child- 7-12 yrs Child instructions in Parentheses Materials: I used small amounts of Knit Picks Palette: Majestic, Hyacinth, Orange, Mai Tai, Opal Heather, Spearmint, Canary, Custard, Fuchsia, Cotton Candy, Celestial and Pool. Any fingering-weight woolswill work. Five #3 DPNs (or size needed to obtain gauge) Tapestry needle Gauge: 32 stitches and 30 rounds = 4”' using #3 needles before blocking, but gauge is not critical here. Instructions: Leg warmers are worked top down. Make 2. CO 72 (48) sts using Majestic (or color of choice). Split stitches evenly among 4 DPNs. Knit 2x2 rib for 2 (1.5) inches. Knit 3 rounds of each color. When detaching and attaching colors, remember to keep all color ends to the stockinette side for fluffed fringe at the end. Work to desired length. (For woman's leg warmer, I knit 108 rounds). Using same color as top cuff, work another 2x2 ribbed cuff for the bottom: 3 inches for woman's and 2 inches for child. BO loosely. Finishing: Tie and trim all color change ends at beginning and ends of rounds. Separate fibers to “Fluff." Wash and block to flat .
