Two colors of Plymouth Yarn Company “Mega" (75% acrylic, 25% wool, 64 yards, 3.5 ounces) 1 Skein: 9601 (red), 1 Skein 0217 (black) Size US 17 knitting needles Large button Sewing thread Sewing needle Yarn needle Gauge: 2 stitches = 1" in broken rib pattern Abbreviations: K = Knit P = Purl Rep = Repeat Sts = Stitches Directions: Using red, cast on 19 sts. Work in broken rib pattern as follows: Row 1 (rs): (P1, kl) rep to last st, p1. Row 2: K. Rep rows 1 & 2 for 18". Cut red, leaving an 8” tail for weaving in later. Join black and rep rows 1 & 2 - BEGINNING WITH ROW 2 - for 13.5", ending with row 1. Work button hole rows: 1: K9, bind of 1 st, k 8. 2: (P1, k1) 4x, pl, cast on 1 st, (p1, kl) 4x, p1. Return to broken rib pattern, beginning with row 2. Continue until black section measures 18". Bind off in patterm. Weave in ends and sew button in place. Block if necessary. Enjoy!
