Summer Breeze Tank

Materials needed:
Light worsted weight cotton or cotton blend yarn: such as TLC Cotton Plus or Caron Simply Soft (approx. 2-4 oz depending on size) H hook 4 stitch markers $^{1\!}/{\!}_{2}^{\;,\;\bullet}$ buttons 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5) $3/8^{\leftarrow}$ ribbon (1-2 yards depending on size) or size 3 crochet thread and F hook sewing needle and thread Gauge: 3.5 sts per inch in hdc Sizes: 0-6 months(6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 3T-4T, 5T-6T)

Chest:
Row 1: Ch 67(71, 75, 79, 83, 87), hdc in the back ridge of $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ ch from hook and in each ch back loop across 65(69, 73, 77, 81, 85) hdc Row 2: ch 3, turn, skip $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ hdc, hdc in next hdc (buttonhole formed) and in each hdc across Row 3: ch 2, turn, hdc in $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ hdc and in each hdc across, hdc in last st (the chain space that formed the buttonhole).

Repeat rows 2 and 3 till piece measures approx. $2(2,2.5,2.5,3\ {^1\!_{4}},3\ {^1\!_{4}})$ inches from the beginning ending with row 2. Last row: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across and in the chain space that forms the buttonhole. Finish off. Place a stitch marker in the suggested single crochet stitches noted for your size on the last row you just made (these will be where you'll place the straps). You can also try the tank on your child and place the markers where you would like the straps to be. 0-6: 11th, $24^{\mathrm{th}}$ $42^{\mathrm{nd}}$ $55^{\mathrm{th}}$ 6-12:11th, 58th 12-18: 9", 26 oth 18-24: 11th, 7 3T-4T: 12th, 71st 5T-6T:10,332
Bottom:
Row 1: Join w/ sl st to $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ st of row 1 from above. Ch 3, (counts as $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}\,\mathrm{{dc}}^{\mathrm{{\:\,}}}$ ), YO, insert hook in same st as ch 3, YO and pull upaadatuhnsxt st iixt stan and draw through 2 loops, YO and draw through all 3 loops on hook, (ch 1, work cluster - see below) across. Dc in last st (same as last cluster). Cluster Stitch: (you will work this when you see “work cluster") YO, insert hook in the same st as the last st made. YO and pullupa loop. YOand draw thrugh 2 loops on hook, YO, skip next st, insert hook in ext st, YO and pullupa loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook, YO and draw through all3 loops on hook. Row 2: ch 3, turn (counts as $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ de), de in next st (not the same as the ch 3), ch 1, (work cluster, ch 1) across. Dc in last st (the top of the ch 3 from Row 1). \*\*Note\*\* The skipped stitch when working the clusteris the ch 1 from the previous row。 Row 3: ch 3, turn (counts as $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ de), (work cluster, ch 1) across. De in last st (the top of the ch 3 from Row 1). Repeat row 3 till desired length. Optional Lacey Edging: Ch 3, turn, (sl st in next cluster stitch, ch 3) acros to the last stitch. Sl st in the top of ch 3 of the previousrow. Finish off. Sew buttons on even with buttonholes on opposite side of chest.
For Ribbon Straps:
Cut 4 lengths of ribbon 7(8, 9, 10, 11, 12) inches each. Insert ribbon through the tops of the marked stitches. Sew ribbon in place. Cut a $4^{\circ}$ piece of ribbon. Tie in a bow and sew to the center front of the tank right where the hdc rows end and the v-stitch rows begin.
For Crocheted Straps:
Using crochet thread and F hook, join with sl st in marked stitch. Ch till strap measures 7(8, 9, 10, 11, 12) inches. Finish off. Repeat for all marked stitches.

Chain a $4^{\circ}$ chain, tie in a bow and sew to front center of the tank right where the hdc rows end and the cluster stitch rows begin.
