Problem Solved\~ Mobile Phone Cosy By Jan Cullen

I needed a way to carry my mobile phone for when I did not have pockets or a bag. My children find it useful on school disco day to carry their small change too! I hope you find it as useful as I have.

Instructions
Using a provisional 'figure of 8 cast-on.' cast-on 40 sts, i.e. 20sts on each needle. Rounds 1 to 4:- p1, (k2, p2) repeat to the end of round. Round 5: (C1B, p2) repeat to the end of round. Repeat rounds 1 to 5 ending with round 4 until work when slightly stretched work is just as long as item to be covered is tall. The last purl st of the previous round now needs to be the first st of the next round. Eyelet round: (p2tog, YRN, C1B) repeat to the end of round. Work 3 rounds in existing (p2, k2) pattern. Cast-off in pattern. Using a length of yarn 3 times longer than you want the full cord to be, and starting in the centre of the length, make a single crochet chain 2.5 cm/1 inch longer than the top of the cosy when stretched. Thread this chain through the eyelets and behind the cables, starting at the side. The cable crossing should allow you to pull the cord out the other side of the cable. Join both ends of the chain together using the both strands of yarn, and make a chain now with both strands of yarn until it is long enough to reach the back of the neck when item is worn. Now make a second drawstring in the same way threading it in through the opposite side. Join the crochet chains together with a couple of chain sts. Fasten off, weave in ends. gure of eight cast-on: agatheringofwool.blogspot.com/2005/08/figure-8-cast-on.htr
