Gauge

22 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch

Instructions

The blanket consists of squares, which are knitted together. At last the lace border is knitted on. Each square starts with a basis row, in which the stitches either casted on or picked up. These variations are described bellow and dedicated to each square. After the basis row follows one knitted row. Further suceed chart A in account with the square's color sequence. 9 is the square finished. The remaining st is the first st of the square above

Only odd rows are shown in charts, all even rows are knitted. The knitting order is shown in chart B in numbers. The color sequence is given in chart B in chracters. When all squares are knitted, the border is knitted in green. One can work it as knitted on border or knit it seperately and sew it on the blanket. For border cast on 5 sts and follow chart C. Repeat Rows 1 to 16 until piece is long enough. Consider that you need more length to flow nice around the corners of the blanket.

There are following Kinds of Basis Variations

BV1 cast on 29 sts is used in square 1 BV2 pick up 14 sts from the square bellow and cast on 14 sts (1 st + 28 sts = 29 sts)
