Blooming Collar Crochet Pattern with Detailed Instructions and Popcorn Stitches

Hi there, just so you know, this is my very first written pattern. Please let me know if there is anything that is unclear, I would appreciate your honest feedback. Enjoy making this blooming collar!

I got my inspiration for the flower motive from a Japanese pattern (source unknown)

You'll Need: DK yarn - I used Elle Pullskein, a rainbow of colours. SizeUSE4/3.50mmhook YarnNeedle Sharp scissors Crochet talk: Ch - chain SS - slip stitch Sc - single crochet Hdc - half double crochet Dc-double crochet

Please Note:

The popcorn stitch is made by working 5 Dc into the same stitch, next turn your work over and SS into the top of the first Dc made(or the top of the Ch 2 for the first popcorn made on the flower motive), then turn work back and continue as stated.

The Flower:

Start with your slipknot and Ch 4, join with a SS to form a ring. Roundl - Ch I(counts as first Sc), Sc 5, join with a SS (6 Sc in totall. Round2 - Ch 2(counts as first Dc) then work a popcorn stitch into the same space as the Ch 2, Ch 4. \*Popcorn stitch in the next Sc space and Ch 4\* repeat 4 more times, join with a SS around the first Ch 2 (6 popcorn stitches) Round3 - Working in the next space between the popcorn stitches of Round2, \*1 Sc, 1 Hdc, 4 Dc, 1 Hdc, 1Sc (first petal made)\* repeat petal around 5 more times, SS into the first Sc made

Round4 - Ch 3, \*(from the back) insert your hook between the 2nd and 3rd Dc of the petal made in Round3, Sc around the Ch 4 of Round2, Ch 6\* repeat in the round and SS into the firstSc made. Round5 - Working in the 6 Ch spaces of Round4, \*Sc 1, Hdc 1, Dc 5, Hdc 1, Sc 1 ( first petal made)\* repeat in the round and SS into the first Sc made, bind off.

The Collar:

This pattern is the join-as-you-go type. Once you have one complete flower, put it aside and start with the next one. Follow The Flower - Roundsl through 4. Round5 - Working in the 6 Ch spaces of Round4, \*Sc 1, Hdc 1, Dc 5, Hdc 1, Sc 1( first petal made)\* repeat untill you have 4 petals. \*Sc 1, Hdc 1, Dc 3, Sc into the 5th stitch of the petal of your completed flower, Dc 2, Hdc 1, Sc 1\* repeat once more and SS into the first Sc made, bind off.

The End:

Attach the ties where indicated in the image above. Insert your hook inbetween the two Sc's where the two petals come together, hook your tie in the middle and pull through to form a loop, pull both loose strands through the loop and pull tight.
