A baby Capelet with funky undertones..

Materials:
1.5 skeins of Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky approx 170 yards total Size US10.5 16 inch circulars, 3 stitches/inch 4 stitch markers Fits baby XS/S (3 months- 9 months) to M/L (9 months- 1.5 years)
Directions:
AtNeckEdge: Cast on 40 (44) join in round, pm at beginning (k2, p2) for 2 inches k10 (11), pm, k10 (11), pm, k10 (11), pm, cont to knit to marker that denotes the beginning of your round. You should now have 4 evenly spaced markers throughout your round, 4 corners. knit every round, increasing (kfb) every other row before and after each stitch marker as you come to them. Complete the increase row, every other row 10 (11) times.
Back:
Split for side vents At beg of round, knit to next marker, remove, turn work purl past beg of round marker to the next marker, remove, turn You are now knitting stockinette stitch flat on the back of the Capelet. Cont in Stockinette for 1.5 inches, ending on a WS row. RS (k2, p2) for 2 inches. Bind off.

Front:
(RS) join yarn, k across front of Capelet in stockinette for 1 inch, ending on a ws Front panel is slightly shorter that Back panel. (k2, p2) for 1.5 inches Bind off. Weave in ends Block if necessary Add fun detail to left front if desired. I used a hand dyed hannah silk ribbon tied in a bow and then added a clip-on rhinestone earring in the middle of the bow.
