Wonderhat

You need: 1 ball of Schachenmayr Extra Big Merino in your favorite color, 6mm Needles and a Yarn Needle (maybe a 6mm Crochet hook for the blossom) You need to know: How to knit in the round, how to yarn over, how to knit two stitches together (so its a beginner project). Gauge: For Ribbing it's 13 Stitches for 10 cm. I've made this Pattern for Baby/Toddler (depends on the Child) The Circumference is 45 cm. So if you work more Stitches you can make a hat for an adult Cast on 55 stitches and work in 2k 2p Rib for 10 Rounds. Then knit one row. The next row you beginn with \*yarn over (YO), K1, YO, K1\* repeat until the end of the rd. Then you knit every round in stockinette stitch, the YO are knitted too. The hole that appears on the yarn over rounds makes it easier for you at the end. Work for about 10cm. The next round you let the YO stitches drop from the needle and continue to knit the knitted stitches. So you work like that: Drop stitch, K1, Drop Stitch, K1 until the end of the round. Then you beginn the decreases. Every 4"m and 5"m stitch are knitted together (K2tog) until only a few stitches are remaining. Then you cut the yarn, leaving a tail about 15 cm long. Pull the yarn through the remaining stitches and pull the hole together. Thats it! Easy and beautiful. For a cuter look you can ad a crochet blossom if you like (and like I did).
