Stitches and Abbreviations
2/2 RC - sl 2 st to cable needle and hold to the PM - back, knit next 2 stitches, then knit 2 st from cablePlace needle. 2/2 LC - sl 2 st to cable needle and hold to the front, knit next two stitches, then knit 2 st from cable needle. K(l) - knit that number of stitches. K2tog - knit 2 stitches together. P(1) - purl that number of stitches. P2tog - purl 2 stitches together. marker. RS - right side of work. Sl1 - slip one stitch from left needle to right needle unworked. SSK - slip two stitches to right needle knitwise, slide them back to left needle and knit them together. ST(S) - stitch(es).

Pattern Notes
Directions are written for smallest size with changes in O for larger sizes. If only one number is given it applies to all sizes. Caston Cast on 40 (48, 56) stitches loosly, use larger size needle if necessary. Divide onto 3 dpn (or two circs or magic loop them) place marker and join being careful not to twist stitches. Cuff Work Kl, Pl ribbing for 8 rounds or 1". Leg Rd 1: Knit 6 (8, 10) sts., P2, K4, P2, K12 (16, 20) sts, p2, k4, p2, k6 (8, 10) stitches. Rd 2 & 3: Repeat Rd 1 Rd 4: K6 (8, 10), p2 2/2 LC, p2, k12 (16, 20), p2, 2/2 RC, p2, k6 (8, 10). Repeat these 4 rounds for a total of 10 cable twists or desired length. Work rds 1 - 3 once more. Heel
Knit first 10(12, 14) st of next round then divide for heel by placing 10 (12, 14 st) on either side of marker onto one needle ([20 (24, 28) st]. Place the remaining 20 (24, 28) st divided between 2 dpn or on another circular or back loop of magic loop. The 20 (24, 28) st with the marker in the middle will form your heel and are worked as follows: With Rs facing work set up row: Sll purlwise, p to end. Rw1: $\because S|$ 1 knitwise, kl \* Repeat from \* Rw 2: \*Sl 1 purlwise, p1\* Repeat from \* Repeat these two rows until 21 (23, 25) rows are completed or desired heel length.
Turn Heel
Note: Sll - slip one purlwise. Rw 1: (RS) K12 (14, 16), ssk, k1.Turn. Rw 2: sl 1, p5, p2tog, pl, turn. Rw 3: sl 1, k6, ssk, kl, turn. Rw 4: sll, p7, p2 tog, pl, turn. Rw 5: sl 1, k8, ssk, kl, turn. Rw 6: sl 1, p9, p2tog, pl, turn.
For Small only
Rw 7, sll, kl0, ssk, turn Row 8: sll, pl0, p2tog, turn. Knit 6 st. Beginning of Round.
For Medium only
Rw 7: sl 1, kl0, ssk, kl, turn. Rw 8: sll, pll, p2tog, pl, turn. Rw 9: sll, kl2, ssk, kl, turn. Rw 10: sll,pl2, p2tog, turn. Knit 7 st. Beginning of round.
For Large only
Rw 7: sll, kl0, ssk, kl, turn. Rw 8: sll, pll, p2tog, pl, turn. Rw 9: sll, kl2, ssk, kl, turn. Rw 10: sll, pl3, p2tog, pl, turn. Rw 1l: sll, kl4, ssk, turn Rw 12: sll, pl4, p2tog, turn. Knit 8 st. Beginning of round.
Heel Gusset
With free needle and right side facing, knit $2^{n d}$ half of the heel stitches. Continuing with the same needle, pick up 11 (15, 19) st along the side of the heel flap. Pick up and knit one stitch from the row below the first instep stitch to prevent a hole. PM. With another needle, work across the 20 (24, 28) instep stitches that you put aside earlier. PM. With free needle, pick up and knit one stitch from row below last instep stitch to prevent a hole. Pick up 11 (15, 19) st along second side of heel flap and work across remaining heel stitches.
Shape Gusset
Work one round even. Decrease round: Work to 3 st before first marker, k2tog, kl. Knit to 1 st past next marker, ssk, knit remainder of round. Next round: knit all stitches. Work these two rounds until there are 40 (48, 56) or desired number for foot width remaining. Leave markers in place to aid in shaping toe. Foot Continue working in rounds until foot measures 6.5" (7", 7.5") or desired length (base of big toe). ShapeToe Rd i: work to 3 st before marker, k2tog, kl, sl m, k1 ssk, work to 3 st before next marker, k2tog, kl, sl m, kl, ssk, k to end. Rd 2: knit all st. Repeat these two rounds until 16 st remain. Finishing Graft sts together using Kitcheners st. Weave in ends on inside of sock. Work second sock same as first.
