This is a pattern for a long stole, gently increasing outward. It's an easy pattern to do and is adaptable to any weight of yarn. To get the gentle shaping, you will be increasing one stitch at each end on each row (two stitches increased on each row). What you do between those increases is up to you, but I've written out a pattern for eyelets and ridges, shown in the sample photo. The sample is knit in handspun yarn, which adds another level of fun to the project. Knit at a looser gauge, it will drape softly over your shoulders and around your neck. The finished size of this sample stole is 61" by 12". Yarn: DK or Worsted Weight, approximately 250 to 350 yards. 3US (5.0mm) - 32" circular needles, or size of needle to get Gauge: In stockinette stitch, 14sts = 4"

Repeat Rows 11 - 32 three to four times, depending on how much yarn you have. You will want to finish the shawl with the 10-row garter stitch pattern Bind off loosely. Blocking the stole will open up the eyelets. For the sample, l repeated rows 11-32 three times. Because I didn't have enough yarn to do another full repeatofrows11-32andlwanted to use up all my remaining yarn, l just kept knitting the garter stitch pattern and knit 20 rows instead of 10.
