This super soft, super bulky, cowl knits up quickly and is a great way to use up yarn leftovers. Knit in the round in plain stockinette stitch with a couple increase rounds thrown in, this cowl makes great movie knitting.
MATERIALS
1 size $13/9.0\:\mathrm{mm}\:16\$ inch circular needle 1 ball Rowan Big wool, $100\%$ wool, 87 yards per $100\mathrm{g}$ ; sample color Cassis 1 stitch marker or scrap of yarn Tapestry needle to weave in ends GAUGE Gauge is not as important for this quick knit, as depending on your yarn choice and your desired drape for the finished cowl, gauge will vary. Sample knitted: 9 sts and 13 rows per 4 inch by 4 inch square INSTRUCTIONS CO 40 sts and join in round, making sure not to twist sts, and mark beginning of round with a stitch marker or yarn scrap. Knit 11 rows. Row 12: {k8, M1} 5 times, 45 sts. Knit 12 rows. Row 25: [k9, M1] 5 times, 50 sts. Knit 6 rows. BO all sts. Weave in ends. Block, if desired, by soaking in lukewarm water and laying out to dry.
