Materials
3mm needles, DK yarn in colours required ,toy filling, tapestry needle for sewing up. "circles of felt approx. 1inch diameter K - knit, P- purl, st/s - stitch/es, inc - increase (K front and back of stitch), K2tog/dec (knit 2 together), NR - next row, instructions in brackets, repeat as stated Pattern is written for the original resident colourings. For that Whirlm you need green, red, orange and white (or cream). For variants see charts at bottom of pattern for visitor (black and white), turnip seed (purple), and watercress seed (green) .. there is also a pink (waterlilyseed) variant but I will update the pattern once I get hold of a decent picture to determine the colours This is a free Fanart pattern, Whirlm image belongs to Viva Pinata by Rare

Follow chart and work the 21 rows of colour pattern ending on the 4th red row (row 41 on chart) Stocking stitch 19 rows Decrease for nose end NR (k2, dec) along row - 24sts P1row Nr (k1, dec) along row - 16sts P1row dec) along row - 8sts, break yarn pull through remaining sts to gather
To make up
eam and stuff to make a sausage shape with a slightly pointed tail end Cut 2 circles of white felt around X in diameter. Make pupils either with 2 small circles of black, embroidered with thread of yarn or if for an adult glue on googlyeyes Position eyes on head as in picture with seam running underneath the whirlm. Glue and/or sew securely into place. using green yarn embroider a few dots around each eye (see black/white whirlm picture below, my sproglet didn't want them on his coloured one) Using black yarn embroider a smile for the mouth as in pictures using straight stitches Place your new resident in his/her new home
