Raggsocks with cables

120 g Ullcentrum 2-ply wool yarn Double pointed needles size 4 mm/US 6 Cable needle
Pattern
Cast on 40 st and divide equally on needles, then work in pattern: Rows 1-5: \*p2, k6, p2\* Row 6: \*p2, put 3 st on cable needle, k3, k 3 st from cable needle, p2\* Repeat rows 1-6 for 16 cm and finish with rows 1-5 Shift 5 st from 1 needle to the next all the way round to retain the cable on top on needles 2 & 3 and knit remaining st Work heel flap flat in stockinette st on needles 4 & 1 for 5 cm Work heel as follows: k11, k2tog, k1, turn Sl1, p3, p2tog, p1, turn Sl1, k4, k2tog, k1, turn Sl1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn Sl1, k6, k2tog, k1, turn Continue like, adding 1 st before decrease on every rnd, this until all st are gone on both sides Pick up 9 st along heel flap, work round on needles 2 & 3, pick up 9 st on other side of heel flap and work 2 rows, working cable on needles 2 & 3 (top of foot) Decrease as follows on ea side of heel: On needle 1: knit until 2 st remain, k1, sl1, psso On needle 2: k2tog, knit until end of rnd Repeat these decreases until 38 st remain Work sock for 22 cm (or required length) or until it reaches over the little toe Decrease for toe: On needles 1 & 3: Knit until 2 st remain, k2tog tbl On needles 2 & 4: k1, k2tog, knit until end of rnd Repeat decreases every 2nd rnd x 3 times and then every rnd until 8 st remain Break yarn, pull it through the remaining st and fasten Put socks in hot water, felt a little, squeeze out water and put sock to dry
