Camden Twist Cardigan

Camden Twist Cardigan is written in 6 sizes from 0-3 months to 2 years. It is worked from the top down, with raglan shaping and minimal sewing. It features a simple cable design along the front & back of the cardigan.
Yarn:
Townhouse Camden Tweed. Pictured in ‘Too Rouge". Pattern requires approximately (100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150)g 4 ply / fingering weight yarn.
Materials
2.5mm needle (or size needed to achieve gauge) 1 x 100 cm circular needle \*or\* straight needles plus DPNs for the sleeves. cable needle or DPN stitch markers Buttons Darning needle Optional sewing needle & thread, for buttons. Gauge: 28 st per 10 cm in stocking stitch.

Separate body from sleeves;
Continuing to follow cable patterns as set, work (34, 36, 37, 39, 42, 43) sts; RM; slip following (46, 50, 52, 54, 58, 64) sleeve sts on to waste yarn; using backwards loop method CO 4 sts; RM; work (68, 72, 74, 78, 84, 90) st; RM; slip following (46, 50, 52, 54, 58, 64) sts on to waste yarn; using backwards loop method CO 4 sts; RM; work to end of row. Continue working body as set until it measures (23, 26, 28, 31, 33, 36) cm from shoulder.
Ribbing;
Row 1: P3, \*K2 P2, repeat from \* to 5 sts before end of row. K2, P3 Row 2: K3, \*P2 K2, repeat from \* to 5 sts before end of row. P2, K3 Repeat rows 1 & 2 two more times. (6 rows of ribbing). BO in pattern. Sleeves Work one sleeve at a time. Using DPNs or a circular needle, slip held stitches for one sleeve onto needle, ready to work in the round. Using working yarn & backwards loop method, CO 4 st underarm. PM between 2nd & 3rd st to mark beginning of round. Knit (5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8) rounds even \*Dec row: K1, K2tog, K to 3 sts from end of round, SSK, K1 Knit (4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7) rounds Repeat from \* (2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) more times. (44, 48, 48, 48, 50, 54) stitches remain. Continue knitting until sleeve measures (12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20) cm from underarm. Work \*K2, P2\* for 6 rounds. BO in pattern.
Button band:
With right side facing, PUK sts along the front cardigan for button band, approximately 2 sts for every 3 rows. The total number of sts should be a multiple of 4 +2; you may have to add a couple of extra sts at the beginning & end of the band to achieve this. Row 1 (WS) P2 \*K2, P2, repeat from \* to end of row Row 2 (RS) K2 \*P2, K2, repeat from \* to end of row Repeat these 2 rows two more times. BO in pattern
Button hole band:
With right side facing, PUK sts along the front cardigan for button band, approximately 2 sts for every 3 rows. The total number of sts should be a multiple of 4 +2. Row 1 (WS) P2 \*K2, P2, repeat from \* to end of row Row 2 (RS) K2 \*P2, K2, repeat from \* to end of row Row 3 repeat row 1 Row 4; button hole row; Place stitch markers to mark position of buttonholes before working this row. Button holes should be spaced evenly across the button band, with 4 stitches before the first buttonhole, and 4 stitches after the last buttonhole. Place markers for (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) buttons. Work 4 sts as set; \*YO, K2tog; work to next marker as set; repeat from \* to last button hole marker. YO, K2tog, work to end of row. Rows 5&6; work ribbing as set. Bind off in pattern. Sew up underarms. Weave in ends. Sew on buttons. Block lightly.
