Materials
Worsted weight wool, approx 100 yds MC & 35 yds CC (hats shown made with Lion Brand Wool) US 8 (5mm) 16" circular needles & Us 8 (5mm) dpns or size needed to obtain gauge Stitch marker Tapestryneedle Gauge: 18 sts & 26 rows = 4" in st st. Take time to check gauge. Special abbreviation DVD - Slip 2 as if to k2tog, k1, p2ss0 The Camden Hat is knit with a slip stitch mosaic band. When working the chart, only one color is worked per round. The color of the row number block is the color used in the round. Knit the sts shown in the rnd color and slip the sts shown in the other color. For example, rnd 1 & 2 uses CC as the working yarn, knit the CC sts and slip the MC sts. Slip all sts purlwise with yarn in back. Take care to maintain tension while slipping sts.
Chart
Using MC, C0 80 (96), pm and join into the round being careful not to twist. Work 2x2 rib for 8 (10) rnds. Change to st st and work 2 rnds. Attach CC and work rounds 1 -22 of chart. When completed with chart, break CC and cont in MC for rem of hat. K 3 (7) rnds and then work dec as follows, switching to dpns when needed: Rnd 1: K7, [Slip 2 as if to k2tog, k1, p2sso (DVD), k13] 4 (5) times, end DVD, k6. Rnd 2 & all even rnds: k. Rnd 3: K6, [DVD, k11] 4 (5) times, end DVD, k5. Rnd 5: K5, [DVD, k9] 4 (5) times, end DVD, k4. Rnd 7: K4, [DVD, k7] 4 (5) times, end DVD, k3. Rnd 9: K3, [DVD, k5] 4 (5) timeS, end DVD, k2.
