Materials: 130 yards super-chunky weight yarn, about 80 yards MC and 50 yards CC (shown in Erika Knight Maxi Wool, colors 4(MC) and 20(CC), 100 grams and 87 yards per hank - 1 hank of each color). Size 9 and 10.5 double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge ge: 12 sts and 16 rows to 4 inches in stockinette stitch on larger needles To Make: With MC and smaller needles, CO 28 sts. Divide evenly among 3 DPN's and join for working in the round, being careful not to twist. Work (k2, p2) ribbing for 3 inches. Next rnd: changing to larger needles, k2, pm, k to end. With CC, knit 1 rnd. (From now on, alternate colors on every round.) Next rnd: (k1, ssk, k4, k2tog, k1) 2 times. (16 sts) Graft top together with kitchener stitch. Materials: 150 yards chunky weight yarn (shown in Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande Hand Dye, color 33, 100 grams and 109 yards per hank - 2 hanks) Size 10, 16 inch circular and double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge Gauge: 3.5 sts to 1 inch in stockinette stitch Earflap: With DPN's, CO 9 sts. K 2 rows. Inc row: k1, kfb, k to last 3 sts, kfb, k2. K 1 row even. Rep last 2 rows until there are 15 sts. Knit even until earflap measures 3.5 inches from CO. Set aside and make another. Hat: Knit 15 earflap sts, turn and CO 20 sts for back, turn and knit 15 sts from second earflap, turn and CO 25 sts for front. PM and join for knitting in the round. (75 sts) Rnds 1, 3, and 5: purl. Rnds 2 and 4: knit. After those 5 rounds of garter stitch, knit even until hat measures 7 inches from front and back CO's. Dec as follows, switching to DPN's when necessary. Rnd 1: (k13, k2tog) rep to end. Rnd 2: (k12, k2tog) rep to end. Rnd 3: (k11, k2tog) rep to end. Continue decreasing in this manner until 5 sts remain. Gather last sts together and fasten off. Materials: 200 yards worsted weight yarn, 100 yards each of two colors/yarns (shown in Noro Kureyon, color 272, 50 grams and 109 yards per hank, and Plymouth Galway, color 173, 100 grams and 210 yards per hank - 1 hank of each). Size 13, 16 inch circular and double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. --Correct gauge is not necessary for this project, as finished size will be established during the felting process. If you are an especially tight or loose knitter, however, do adjust needle size accordingly. The entire project is done with a double strand of yarn.-- To Make: With circular needle, and one strand of each yarn held together, CO 30 sts. Pm and join for knitting in the round, being careful not to twist, and knit every round until mitt measures 8 inches from CO. Divide for thumb: k6, place those 6 sts on a holder, k to end. Next rnd: CO 6, k to end. (30 sts) Knit even for 6 inches from thumb. Dec as follows, changing to DPN's when necessary: Rnd 1: (k4, k2tog) 5 times.(25 sts) Rnd 2: (k3, k2tog) 5 times.(20 sts) Rnd 3: (k2, k2tog) 5 times.(15 sts) K2tog until 7 sts remain. Materials: 530 yards worsted weight yarn (shown in Plymouth Fantasy Naturale, color 9172, 100 g and 140 yards per hank, 4 hanks). Size 7, 24 inch circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. Spare needle in a smaller size. Elastic for waistband. 2-3 buttons. Gauge: 18 sts and 20 rows to 4 inches in st st. To make: CO 148 sts. Join and knit 5 rnds. P 1 rnd. K 5 rnds. With spare needle, pick up 148 sts along CO edge. Join both sets of sts with a 3-neede join onto the size 7 needle. Next rnd: Knit, decreasing 8 sts evenly around. Knit even for 8 inches from turning rnd, decreasing 12 more sts evenly within these 8 inches. (128 sts) Place last 64 sts on a spare needle. Leg: CO 12 sts in place of sts on hold, knit even on 76 leg sts for 4.5 inches. P 1 rnd. K 5 rnds. BO. For second leg, k 64 sts from holder, and pu&k 12 sts from CO, join, and finish as for first leg. Turn leg hems up at purl rnd, whipstitch hem to inside of leg. Button flap: CO 12 sts, work 33 rows in stockinette stitch, bind off. Materials: 3,000 yards worsted weight yarn (shown in Plymouth Coffee Beenz, colors 9000, 9001, 9217, and 9003, 100 grams and 214 yards per hank - 1 hank for each of the 15 panels) Size 8 needles, and a size H crochet hook, for edging (Note: The stitches used in this blanket are designed to allow for slight differences in gauge between several knitters, and is an excellent choice for group or community projects. Feel free to share this pattern with your prayer shawl or community knitting group, maintaining copyright and author information. If you are an especially tight or loose knitter, please adjust your needle size accordingly.) To Make: Cast on 40 stitches. First section, row 1: (knit 4, purl 4) repeat to end. Repeat row 1 39 more times, for a total of 40 rows. Second section, row 1: knit row 2: purl row 3: knit row 4: purl row 5: purl row 6: knit row 7: purl row 8: knit Repeat rows 1-8 four more times, for a total of 40 rows in second section. Repeat the first and second sections once more. Fasten off the last stitch, leaving your leftover yarn attached. To assemble, lay out the finished panels so that the ribbing lines up in opposite directions. Sew all of the panels together with a whip stitch. Use remaining yarn to add a few rounds of single crochet for a border, doing 3-5 sc in each corner to keep the corners flat. To Make: CO 10 sts. K 1 row. Brioche row: (k1, k1below) to last 2 sts, k2. Repeat brioche row until scarf measures 60 inches, or when almost out of yarn on your second hank of Marley yarn. Bind off. Cut 72 pieces of fringe, each 20 inches long. Bundle fringe in 4's, fold in half, and attach evenly to either end of the scarf.
