Special stitches:
"Beginning Popcorn" - Ch 2, 4 HDC in same join stitch, remove hook from loop, insert hook into the 2nd chain of the beginning of round, grab the open loop and pull through. Chain one to secure "Popcorn" - 5 HDC in stitch, remove hook from loop, insert hook into the first of the 5 HDC, grab the open loop and pull through. Chain one to secure. Note: NEVER stitch into the chain on the popcorn stitch, it is just there to hold the popcorn stitch closer together, ignore it when stitching the next round!
Body:
1. In a magic ring-Chain 2, 9 HDC in ring. Pull ring closed, slp together (10 HDC) 2. Beginning popcorn, \*2 HDC, popcorn.\* Slp together. (5 popcorn, 10 HDC) 3. Ch 2, 2 HDC (on top of previous round's popcorn), popcorn, \*HDC, 2 HDC (on top of previous round's popcorn), popcorn\* Slp together. (5 popcorn, 15 HDC) 4. Beginning popcorn, HDC, HDC, 2 HDC, \* popcorn, HDC, HDC, 2 HDC.\* SIp together. (5 popcorn, 20 HDC) 5. Ch 2, 2 HDC, skip chain, popcorn, \*2HDC, HDC, popcorn.\* Slp together & bind off (10 popcorn, 30 HDC)
Face:
1. In a magic ring-chain 2, 14 HDC in ring, pullring closed, slp together (15 HDC) 2. Chain 2, 2 HDC in each of the next 3 stitches. HDC. Chain 3 and turn 3. 6 DC, DC in next 6 stitches, 7 DC in last stitch, bind off. (If you want a smaller face, do HDC instead of DC's here.)
Legs: (make 4)
1. Chain 10, 3HDC in 3rd chain from hook, SC, slp 6 times to end, bind off. Sew all pieces together and embellish eyes with buttons or by embroidery! As always, my motif patterns are free and if you wish, you can sell the items made from the pattern, just don't sell my pattern (duh) @
