Other Inner Mitten

I got really excited about Dimorphous Mittens? - they are so elegant and practical. My imagination started to run wild with all the possibilities. And now I am presenting one way, how to make the inner mitten different. That being said - it does not have to be Inner mitten - this pattern is pretty and truly worth to stand alone. I made it with 100% Mohair and that made them extremely warm and cozy, looking elegant at the same time.
Size
Needles: 3,5mm - 2 short (40cm) circulars Yarn: 60 grams medium weight Mohair yarn (l got mine from unspecified sources and have no idea about manufacturer), preferably solid color Gauge: 12 stitches in 1:1 ribbing = 5cm Mittens: most likely to fit most of adult lady hands (if it still seems to small or to big, try using different size needles)

Cuff
Cuff is the pride and joy of these mittens. The lace is pretty easy to make, but looks gorgeous on the hand. Using any elastic cast-on (i.e. knitted), on two circular needles cast on 60 stitches (2x30 stitches). Work rounds 1.- 31. of the the Cuff chart. After finishing the chart there should be 48 stitches in total (2x24) .As.soon.as.ribhina.is.on.all.stitcbes.work24.rouunds.ofiust.ribb omoomhortotywictknit.stitohos).boforo.stortingthtumh.aucsot. elieinibertotwistkrtstrteles)beiorestartnigtiiariipgusset.

Thumb Gusset
The Thumb gusset has a pattern, similar to the cuff. That gives the mitts extra delicate look. And it is way easyer to make than it looks. Put a marker on the first stitch of the first needle. This will be the centre stitch of the thumb. Knit rounds 1.-12. of the Thumb Chart around that first knit stitch, on all other stitches continue ribbing as established. In round 13. transfer 14 thumb stitches (first 14 of the first needle) on the scrap yarn and after that using knitted cast-on make 6 new stitches to the right, then knit these stitches continuing the ribbing (i.e. {k1, p1}3x). as a result there will be 52 stitches in the palm, all in ribbing.
Palm
itinue to knit ribbing on all 52 stitches for 26 rounds, before decreasing
Decreasing
Decrease 4 stitches in every round, working both needles as follows - In beginning of each needle k1, purl2tog, work all stitches in between in ribbing, last 2 stitches of the needle purl2tog. Continue like this till you have 4 stitches left; graft them together (first the purl stitches, then, on top of them - knit stitches)

Thumb
Transfer 14 stitches from scrap yarn to the needle and pick up 6 stitches from palm edge. Now there are 20 stitches in total, divide them evenly on 2 circullar (or 3 doublepoint) needles, trying not to lose the right place in chart. Knit Rounds 14.-23 of the Thumb Chart (the 6 new stitches are always continuing the ribbing). When all stitches are back to ribbing, continue for 7 more rounds, before start decreasing. Decrease the same way as palm. Weave in ends and do it all once more to make the other mitten. Block lightly, if necessary. Now you could go ahead and make the Outer Mitten from the Dimorphous Mittens, if you want. In that case my suggestion would be to change decrease method to one from this pattern to make the mitts fit better into one another.
