Materials; Approximately 15grams of a fine UK DOUBLE KNIT yarn . I used Stylecraft Special Double Knit. Size 3.25mm needles Gauge 5.5 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch of stocking stitch on 3.25mm needles. Abbreviations. K2tog = knit 2 together M1= pick up the loop between the last and next st and work in to the back of this loop KB = knit through back of st (loop) K =knit P = purl tbl = through back of loop (st) tog = together 3 size 3.25mm needles and Main colour cast on 22sts and work 3 rows in K1B, P1 single ri Row 4. Rib 3, M1, \*(Rib 4, M1,) repeat from \* to the last 3sts , M1, Rib 3. =27sts. Work 2 rows stocking stitch starting with a knit row.(for main part) Row 7. K13, M1, K5, M1, K13. Row 8. Purl 20, turn. Row 9. K7,turn Now work 2 rows stocking stitch on these 7 stitches for thumb. Next row. P1, (P2tog) 3 times. =4sts. Break the yarn and thread through these 4sts and right sides together, stitch thumb seam. Now with the wrong side facing, rejoin the yarn to the next set of stitches and purl 13. Next row. K12, K2t0g, K12. =25sts. Work 3 rows in stocking stitch and now shape the top. Row 1. K2togTBL, K8, K2tog, K1, K2togTBL, K8, K2tog. Row 2. Purl Row 3. K2togTBL, K6, K2tog, K1, K2togTBL, K6, K2tog. Row 4. P7, P2tog, Now there are 8sts on each needle. Turn them so they are facing the same way with right sides together and do a 3 needle bind off. Stitch the seam. Work a single chain using double thickness yarn to go up the length of 1 sleeve,along the back neck and down the other sleeve and attach a mitten to either end.
