Shadowfax
Knittingpattern Finished size approximately: 32 x 32 centimeters. This is a free knittingpattern it depicts Gandalf the magicians horse Shadowfax from the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.J.R. Tolkien. But, ofcourse, you are free to name it yourself or change the colorscheme. I knitted this pattern with sockwool which requires a needle size 2 and a half to three (European size). But you can knit this pattern with any wool you like and adjust the needle size to fit. It is best to use a yarn with high wool content for this knit, in order to best hide the change over from one color to an other. You may choose to knit everything in colorwork or intarsia, or decide to embroider certain small parts. The pattern indicates all the stitches except the simple slip stitch border embroidered around the horses contours. You can see this on the photograph of the finished square. Maar natuurlijk staat het je vrij om de naam voor jezelf te veranderen, of andere kleuren te gebruiken. Ik heb dit patroon gebreid met sokenwol, waarvoor je naald 2 en een half tot drie moet gebruiken. Maar je kunt dit patroon ook met andere wol breien en de daarbij behorende maat breinaald. Je kunt het beste garen gebruiken met een hoog wol gehalte, daarmee krijg je het mooiste resultaat in verband met de kleurovergangen. Je kunt ervoor kiezen het hele patroon in te breien, of bepaalde gedeeltes op te mazen. Don staan alle steken, behalve de contourlijin om het paard.
